Shrimps recipe collection from Bengali cuisine

Shrimps recipe is one of the most easiest recipe in Bengali cuisine. It is one of the most delicious dishes in Bengali cuisine. Here’s it use as various types of dishes. Nutritionally Shrimps is high calcium, iodine,and protein but low in food energy. Here’s some shrimps recipe from Bengali cuisine and I think this  shrimps recipe helps to you makes some delicious Shrimps dishes .

1.Shrimp Malaicurry

Shrimps     500 gm
Sour yogurt 250 grams
Coconut paste 200 g
Onion chopped  1 cup
Garlic paste ½ Cup
Turmeric powder 2 teaspoons
Chilli powder  1 teaspoon
Coriander powder  1 teaspoon
Roasted cumin powder 1 Teaspoon
Salt to  taste
Oil like quantity


Wash the shrimp thoroughly and clean it. Now heat oil in a pan.
Fri  the shrimp lightly and keep aside. Then the onion chopped fried until red in the oil.
Now add all ingredients and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add fried shrimps.

Add some water and add chopped onion. After 3 minutes add  sour yogurt and coconut milk.

Now  cook well. When  oil tops up then add coriander leaves.

Now serve with rice or polao.

2. Shrimp Malaicurry with Pineapple

Pineapple (finely blend) two tablespoons
Pineapple pieces ½ cup
Coconut milk (thick) ½ cup
Shrimp 500 g
Onion chopped 2 tablespoons
Thai Red Curry Paste 1 teaspoon ( available on Super Market)
Ginger please 1 tablespoon
Garlic paste 1 tabspoon
Chilli powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder a pinch
Salt to taste
3 table spoons of oil


Heat oil in a pan with onion paste and fry it until light golden color.
Mix all ingredients. Add a little water and cook for 1 minute.

Add Pineapple chopped and stirring with some water.
Now add shrimps and cook for sometime.
Cover with Coconut milk. When it will be blooms then remove from heat. Keep for cool.
Give some piece of coconut.
Can add a little sugar to increase the taste of pineapple.

Also can add lemon juice, fried cumin seeds for garnishing.

Serve hot.


3.Shrimps keema

Ingredients :

Shrimps 250 gm
Coriander leaves chopped 1 table spoon
1 cup of milk
Salt to taste
Butter 1 Teaspoon
Black pepper powder 1/4 teaspoon
Flour 1 table spoon

Nutmeg powder ¼ Teaspoon
Bread chopped 2 tablespoons
1 Eggs


Wash the shrimps and boil it in water. Make a white sauce with milk, butter and flour. Take out the sauce from the fire and mix it with bread, coriander leaves, salt, pepper, nutmeg and egg yolk. Mix with minced.
Sprinkle a of beaten egg on the kimma and bake 10-15 minutes in 190 degree heat in oven.
Serve hot.


4. Chilli Shrimps

Shrimps 200 grams (head washed and cleaned)
1 Egg
Corn Flowers (little amount)
1 Capsicum (Pieces)
1 Onion (chopped)
Ginger chopped ½ Teaspoon
Garlic chopped ½ Teaspoon
Green chili paste ½ teaspoon
Tomato ketchup ½ teaspoon
Oyster sauce ½ Teaspoon
White vinegar ½ cup
Ginger and garlic paste 1 teaspoon
1 Carrots (small) chopped
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Sugar like as taste
Onion leaves chopped for garnishing


Make a smooth mix by adding eggs with the corn flower. Then add ginger, garlic paste and salt in it. Marinate this mixture with shrimp and keep for one hour.
After one hour, put the marinated shrimps in hot oil.

Now heat another 2-3 tablespoons of oil and heat it. Then add add onion and capsicum pieces. Stir with carrots, ginger chopped and garlic chopped. After that, add green chilli paste.

When it will be oily then add tomato sauce and oyster sauce.
Now add the shrimps and mix well. Now give white vinegar and a little sugar.
After some time stirring then keep it in a serving dish.
Now add onion leaves chopped for garnishing.

5.Shrimp ball

Shrimps 1 cup
Lentil paste ½ cup
Coconut paste 2 tablespoons
Ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon
2 green chilli paste
Turmeric powder a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Flour a pinch


Make a dense mix of all the ingredients except oil.
Makes some small balls from the mixture and fry in oil.Serve hot with tomato sauce.


6. Shrimp Korma

Shrimps (medium)15-16
Curd 150 gm
Ginger paste ½ teaspoon
Garlic paste 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon
Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
Poppy seeds paste 1 tabspoon
Almond paste 1 tabspoon
4-5 Green chilli slices
Coriander leaves chopped 1 tabspoon
Ghee or oil 2 tabspoon


Take one hundred grams of curd, ginger, garlic paste, turmeric powder and shrimp fishes with a little salt and keep for marinating at least 30 minutes.

Now ghee or oil in a pan. Add the almonds, coriander and poppy seeds and fry until light brown. Now add the marinated shrimps and add green chilli and salt.
Now beaten the curd with some water.
Cook for 5-7 minutes and then remove from heat. Add coriander leaves chopped before serving.

7. Mango Shrimps

Shrimps (medium sized)    500 g
Turmeric powder     1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Mustard oil  1/2 cup
Mustard seeds  1/2 teaspoon
6  Curry leaves
1 Onion chopped
Green chilies (slices)
Ginger paste   1 table spoon
Garlic paste   1/2 table spoon
Coriander powder   2 teaspoons
Chili powder   2 teaspoons
Coconut milk   200 ml
Raw mango  (grated)1 cup
Sugar  1 teaspoon


Wash the fish and mix  salt and turmeric powder.  Heat the oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add the onion chopped and fry it until light .

Then  ginger, garlic, and fish. Cook for a little time. Now add coriander powder, chili powder, mango, salt and sugar and cook again. When the spices are thick and it will be oily  then add the coconut  milk and slices green chilis. Cook on low flame until boiled. Then remove from heat.   Serve with hot rice.

8. Shrimps fry with Sesame

Shrimps (medium size) 10 piece
Garlic  2 pieces
Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
Tamarind juice 3 teaspoon
Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
Semolina ½ cup
Bread crumb / toasted powder 1 cup
1 egg
White sesame seeds ½ cup

Oil for frying
The amount of salt to taste


Peel the  shrimp shells  and keep it clean.
Now drop out  the water of the shrimp and remove it with the tissue. Now take  a bowl and add garlic, black pepper powder,turmeric powder, tamarind and salt and mix well for marinating and keep aside for 20 minutes.
Sprinkle the marinated shrimp with semolina and then put in the egg and finely sprinkle with the breadcrumbs. Now keep it refrigerator  for 15 minutes. After that take off the fridge and fry  the oil until crispy golden.

Now serve with chili sauce.
