Chow mein recipe (Chinese cuisine): A stir fried noodles recipe

Chow mein recipe is the stir-fried noodles recipe from Chinese cuisine. Although it is origin of China and it’s a popular dish in China but nowadays it particularly popular in the world.

The word chow mein mean “stir-fried noodles”. Here is chow meaning ‘stir-fried’ and mein means noodles.

Here’s some recipe of this.


1. Beef Chow Mein


3   Bell pepper (different color and cut into shreds)
1 Cup flank steak (cut into strips)
8 oz. fresh egg noodles
1 Onion (shredded)
2 Cloves garlic ( chopped)
Oil   3 tabspoon
Beef marinating sauce
Light soy sauce   1/2 tabspoon
1/2 tablespoon Oyster sauce    1/2 tabspoon
Cornstarch   1 teaspoon
Sesame oil     1 teaspoon
Stirring Sauce

Shaoxing wine   1 tabspoon
Sugar a pinch
A pinch of small dash of ground pepper


Cut the beef into 2-inch strips. Then marinate with all the beef marinating sauce. Stir in one direction until they become slightly sticky. Keep aside.

Now in a small pan, mix  all the ingredient of the stirring sauce.

Boiled the noodles with enough water for 3-4 minutes.
Now  heat up around 3 tablespoons of cooking oil until  hot over high flame. Add  garlic and fry it  until aroma over medium flame and turn up the fire again and fry the beef for 30-50 seconds. After that transfer the beef out and leave the oil.

Add bell peppers and onion and  fry until slightly soft. Give noodles and  beef. Finally add the stirring sauce and mix well.

Serve hot the beef chow mein from Chinese cuisine.
